Hectic traffic in Phnom Penh, Cambodia during a storm

by Samuel on April 22, 2013

In this travel video we showcase just how hectic traffic can be in Phnom Penh from select vantage points from our hotel during a massive storm that featured heavy rains, wind, thunder and lightening. Just as we began to start packing our backpacks for our bus journey to Vietnam, we suddenly heard this loud explosion type noise that sounded too violent to be merely thunder. Moments later the top of the roof exploded with sounds of raindrops pelting it with authority. I took my tripod out to the balcony to capture all of this as tuk-tuk, auto rickshaws, rickshaws, bicycles, cars, trucks and pedestrians plowed through puddles wearing rain jackets as random horns shrieked in the background. What a way to end our time in Cambodia which has been filled with a series of high and low points.
