Eating Dim Sum and Drinking Chinese Tea for breakfast in George Town, Penang, Malaysia

by Samuel on March 20, 2013

Before sunrise we woke up early with the thoughts of eating dim sum and drinking Chinese tea for breakfast on our minds, so we headed down Lebuh Cintra (Cintra Street) to find a great place that is popular with both locals and foreigners alike in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. As the lovely ladies wheeled carts down the aisles we selected delicious dim sum, steamed buns and porridge for our meal. Some of our favorites included shrimp dim sum, barbecue pork buns and sesame seed filled paste balls. We enjoyed being in a lively atmosphere where groups of people gathered to drink tea, eat dims, and socialize. Overall, the meal was highly affordable coming in at only 15 ringgit (roughly $5 USD) for the two of us. We highly recommend getting up early (well Sam does) to try it out for yourself. Some of the dim sum restaurants also open up again in the evening for a nice light snack. ย Although this isn’t Audrey’s favorite things to do in Penang, it’s certainly one of Samuel’s top picks ๐Ÿ˜›
