Bus Ride in Cambodia from Battambang to Phnom Penh

by Samuel on April 20, 2013

In this travel video we take our last bus ride in Cambodia going from Battambang to Phnom Penh on a six hour journey where we witness various kinds of road scenes ranging from stunning rural scenery to overcrowded tractors and transport trucks with Khmer people danging off of the roof. On our first stop we noticed our favorite Cambodian snack (Bamboo coconut sticky rice with beans) which we ended up devouring once back inside of the bus. The journey itself was a lot more scenic than the ones from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and from Siem Reap to Battambang. We also made sure to book in advance to secure the front seats (number 3 and 4) meaning we had access to the best views and invigoratingly frosty air conditioning. Overall the journey was pleasant as we noticed plenty of tractors, trucks full of locals and motorcycles along the way. The ‘money shot’ ended up being pigs on a motorbike – something Sam is especially fond of capturing. For those interested in taking the bus from Battambang to Phnon Penh we recommend purchasing the tickets directly from the bus company, as we saved ourselves roughly $2 each from the price quoted by our guest house.
